Care and Sizing Advice
Care Advice
We’ve designed and made pieces to last for years. With a little care, they’ll enjoy a long and happy working life in your wardrobe.
Natural fibres need a little extra love, a bit like the natural world itself. Think of your clothing like a delicate English tea rose — happy at certain temperatures, but too much heat and it will wilt.
Wool
Keep your woolly pieces happy and long-lasting with a little care:
- Air first: Before washing, hang out in the fresh air to refresh and reduce washing.
- Spot clean: Small marks? Try spot cleaning before a full wash.
- Machine wash: Use a wool or delicates cycle at ≤30°C with mild detergent.
- Spin gently: Keep spin cycles low to protect fibres.
- Dry naturally: Lay flat or hang to dry — never tumble dry or dry on a radiator.
- Hand wash option: Use warm water and mild detergent.
- Pro tip: Add 2–3 drops of baby oil to the wash for softer, vibrant wool.
With a little attention, your Flora Percival pieces will look better, last longer, and continue to bring joy for years to come.

Responsible for Our Rubbish
We’d love to see you in person, have a chat, and avoid packaging altogether — but we know that isn’t always possible. Every piece of packaging we use has been chosen with the environment at the forefront of our minds.
Warehouse Bags
Your order will arrive wrapped and protected, but without individual plastic bags for each product. We’ve worked with our suppliers to cut out this plastic, which creates huge amounts of waste.
Instead, items arrive in one large compostable bag. It keeps moisture out during transit, and once you’re done with it, it can go straight into your home compost, eventually feeding your veggies in a few years!
Tissue Paper
We want every order to feel special, so we may include a little tissue paper.
- Reuse it for gifts, crafts, or decorations
- Recycle it in your standard paper recycling if you can’t reuse it
Cardboard Mailer Boxes
We've normally saved and reused these from a delivery here at HQ, so they may show signs of being on adventures already! Open carefully and reuse for another parcel or craft project. If not, they can be recycled in standard paper recycling bins.
Compostable Mailer Bags
Made from corn starch bio-polymers, sourced from sustainably grown corn. When they reach the end of their life, they can be added to home compost, kerbside food recycling, or collection bins
We hope our approach helps reduce waste, protect the planet, and encourage you to reuse, recycle, and compost wherever possible.
